As passionate horse breeders, we are deeply devoted to our stallions, mares and foals. Virtually every horse at 't Welthof Stud was born right here on the premises, in our care.
We therefore regard them as our own children. And we give them the very best care and nutrition: home-grown spelt, black oats, grain, barley…
We can count on a top-class team: the best farrier, a highly skilled vet, and the very best horse carers both at home and abroad. They all support us in bringing out the best in every horse. These people form the foundation of our breeding programme.
However, we only sell our carefully selected horses once we are certain that their bones have fully developed, that they are strong enough and that they are fully ready for the real thing.
This means that our horses are allowed to be older than elsewhere. They are not expected to perform at a high level at a young age. Both the horses and their trainers enjoy the process of learning. Experts then work with them according to a professional plan, guiding our horses to the top.
The result of our approach? A warm stable with happy horses. Strong sport and show-jumping horses that reach great heights alongside the best riders at competitions at home and abroad.
