About 't Welthof
It is hardly surprising that so many people who have stayed at B&B 't Welthof in Bree have praised the hospitality and the homely atmosphere. This is the family home of the hostess, Lieve Weltjens.
On the farm and the surrounding fields, grain, maize, spelt, barley and oats were sown and harvested. Lieve has transformed the farm into an oasis of tranquillity and cosy charm. Where cattle once grazed, a stud farm with horses has been established: Lieve’s great passion.
No expense or effort has been spared to ensure that those seeking peace and quiet, bon vivants, sports enthusiasts, horse lovers and connoisseurs of the good life are well looked after. The first guests were welcomed in August 2007. They were immediately impressed.
Since then, countless people from both home and abroad have left glowing reviews in the guestbook about B&B 't Welthof, the pleasant surroundings, the stud farm, the activities on offer in the region (walking, cycling, horse riding, swimming, shopping, dining out…), the wonderfully comfortable beds, the generous breakfast featuring fresh local produce and, of course, the hospitable owner, Lieve.

A warm hostess, a passionate breeder
Lieve has a background as a nurse. Caring for people is second nature to her. She looks after the guests at B&B 't Welthof with great love, warmth and patience. Lieve is also a patient weaver — although these days the loom and spinning wheel are in the loft, so that she can devote herself to her other passion: horses.
Lieve looks after the horses and the stud farm. The horses kept there are all home-bred: the bloodlines have been carefully selected and each horse’s conformation has been expertly assessed. As Lieve is particularly keen to provide her clients — mainly show jumpers looking for high-quality competition horses — with willing and attentive horses, the temperament of each bloodline is of the utmost importance.
We receive praise and good reviews from our guests, and our horses are sent all over the world. We’re so proud of their excellent results. In the spring, it’s always a celebration at 't Welthof when the young foals are born. Almost all of them are reared here and sold from here, preferably to a place where they’ll be well looked after and where they’ll compete in sport. Yes, we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved with B&B 't Welthof and our stud farm.
